Marshall, Minn. – Northern State women's soccer took down Southwest Minnesota State 2-0 in Friday NSIC action. The Wolves made it back in the win column for the first time in 20 days going 0-1-3 since October 7.

  • Northern State scored first of two goals at the 14-minute mark, Chloe Voss's first of her career assisted by both Megan Fastenau and Ella Blake
  • The NSU defense held strong, allowing only three shots through the first half
  • The Wolves extended their lead in the second half on a Voss to Hannah Smith goal; the pairs first goal assist connection of the 2023 season
  • Alexus Townsend recorded seven saves in the contest and tallied her sixth shut-out of the season
  • Northern State out-shot Southwest Minnesota State 12-8 in total shots and 9-7 in shots-on-goal

Northern State is back on the road to take on Augustana University, closing out the weekend on Sunday. Kickoff is set to start at 1 p.m. on October 29 from Morstad Field. The Wolves sit tied for third in the NSIC standings with Augustana with each team recording 23 conference points thus far.
