FAN PRIMER | Wolves Soccer in Action Against the No. 10 Mavericks in Single Game Weekend

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team is set to host No. 10 Minnesota State on Friday. Kick-off time is set for 5 p.m. on Friday, October 20 against the Mavericks from the Athletic & Recreation Fields.

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • The Wolves head into the weekend with a 6-3-4 record overall and 5-1-4 mark in the NSIC
  • NSU sit fourth in the NSIC standings behind St. Cloud State, Minnesota State, and Bemidji State
  • Northern State is averaging 10.4 shots, .548 shots-on-goal, and 1.15 goals per game 
  • Megan Fastenau leads the Wolves offense with 26 shots, 14 shots-on-goal, five goals, and two assists

  • The No. 10 Mavericks record going into the contest is 9-1-4 overall and 7-0-3 in the NSIC, sitting second in the league standings 
  • Minnesota State is averaging 15.9 shots and 1.57 goals per game, with a .444 shots-on-goal percentage
  • The Maverick offense is led by Avery Korsching with 36 shots, 17 shots-on-goal, six goals, and one assist
  • Allie Williams is second on the team in goals, but leads MSU in shots with 43 shots, 13 shots-on-goal, four goals, and three assist
  • Mackenzie Rath leads the Minnesota State defense with 55 saves in 1260 minutes of play
  • The Mavericks are led by their head coach, Brian Bahl in his eleventh season

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

Fans should enter through the main gates of 14th Ave SW on game day. The ticket tent, located just inside the fence, will open one hour prior to kick-off for all general admission and same day ticket sales. Individuals included in the Northern State passbook must sign in with the ticket personnel.  There is no re-entry into the facility.

Parking

Parking for all home Northern State soccer contests is free for all fans. Fans are encouraged to park on the North end of the Barnett Center lot and walk to the main gate of the Athletics & Recreation Fields. Limited parking is available outside of the facility on 14th Ave SW. 

Concessions

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. New in 2023 Northern State students can use their Thunder Bucks at all Sodexo concessions stands. 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales will be available at the main entrance to the Athletic & Recreation Fields for soccer.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email.
