Mount Marty Invite Cancelled Due to Weather

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University track and field teams were set to travel to Yankton and the Mount Marty Invite tomorrow, however projected weather in Yankton caused the cancellation. Northern State will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at the NDSU Bison Open. 
  
NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves are coming off a solid weekend at the SDSU Division II Open last Friday
  • The women won the open with a score of 122.5, while the men tied for first with 73.5 points
  • Between the two squads, NSU tallied 46 top-10 finishes and two school records were broken by Mary Franssen (1000m) and Jackson Harrison (3000m)
  • Event wins on the men's team included Glen Quayle (pole vault) and Josh Martin (1000m)
  • Event victories on the women's team included Megan Pickering (5000m) and Renea Taylor (200m)
 
SCHOOL RECORD WATCH
  • Renea Taylor broke her own indoor school record in the 60m at the DWU Snow Tiger Invite, crossing the finish line in 7.60
  • Josh Martin knocked down Matt Walberg's 2006 indoor mile record in the opening meet of the season, racing to a national provisional time of 4:10.18
  • Jackson Harrison knocked down his own school record in the 3000m with a time of 8:21.28 at SDSU
  • Mary Franssen also broke her own school record in the 1000m with a time of 2:59.58 at SDSU
 
WOLVES IN THE TOP-25 NATIONALLY
  • Renea Taylor sits 15th in the 200m with a provisional time of 24.66 and 22nd in the 60m with a provisional time of 7.60
  • Glen Quayle sits in the top-20 of the pole vault at number 16 with a 4.85m provisional mark jump
  • Kenzee Danielson is ranked 24th in the pole vault, clearing a provisional mark of 3.70m
  • Jackson Harrison holds down the 24th spot in the 3000m with his school record time of 8:21.28
