Moorhead, Minn. – In their first meet since mid-November, the Northern State swim team jumped out to an early lead during day one of the Dragon Invite. The Wolves sit in first place in the six-team field, accumulating 331 team points with two individual event wins, eight top-5 individual finishes, and four top-5 relay finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State opened the meet with a pair of top-5 team finishes in the 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Maddie Gonzales, Mayson Sheldon, Lauren Forsyth, and Delaney Ryken leading the way with a fourth-place finish and a time of 1:55.77; Northern's team of Mia Fursedonne, Lilly Grebner, Hannah Rodts, and Haley Osborne was close behind with a fifth-place finish and time of 1:56.52
- Gonzales claimed her fourth event win of the season after hitting the wall in a time of 2:11.79 in the 200-yard backstroke, while Osborne finished third (2:18.55) and Fursedonne rounded out the top-5 (2:20.36)
- Grebner earned a runner-up finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.76
- Osborne swam to her second top-3 finish of the day with a third-place time of 11:27.95 in the 1,000-yard freestyle
- Grebner earned her first win of the meet with a time of 59.02 in the 100-yard butterfly, while Forsyth earned a fourth-place finish (1:02.21) and Gonzales rounded out the top-5 (1:02.37)
- In the 200-yard freestyle relay the Wolves rounded out day one of the Dragon Invite the same way it started, with a pair of top-5 relay finishes; the team of Ryken, Forsyth, Fursedonne, and Osborne earned a third-place finish (1:45.27), they were followed by the fourth-place team of Grebner, Hannah Kiernan, Georgy Turner, and Brianna Back (1:47.22)
