Aberdeen, S.D. – Big innings early on in both games by Minnesota Duluth proved to be too much for Northern State on Friday afternoon, as the Wolves were unable to complete comebacks and fell by scores of 6-2 and 13-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Minnesota Duluth scored all six runs of the game in the first two innings of play, scoring one run in the first before a five run second inning
- Northern State got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning when Reece Ragatz was able to reach base on a throwing error by Duluth, allowing Spencer Sarringar and Jack Paulson to cross home plate
- The Wolves scored their two runs on three hits and committed three errors defensively
- Brian Baker suffered the loss on the mound in his seventh start of the season; Mike Stubbs pitched 5.0 scoreless innings in relief and only allowed one hit

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- Duluth once again broke the game open in the early innings of the game, scoring one run in the second, four in the third, three in the fifth, and one in the sixth inning to jump out to a 9-0 lead
- A four run sixth inning for Northern cut the lead back within five runs late
- Brandon Kusler started the scoring for the Wolves with a single to right field to bring home Jack Paulson;Â Reece Ragatz and Niko Pezonella hit back-to-back homeruns to right center the following two at-bats
- UMD was able to push the game out of reach late, adding one run in the seventh and three in the eighth inning to push the lead back to nine runs at 13-4
- NSU scored three runs in the ninth inning, starting when Connor Knecht reached base safely on a Duluth throwing error, allowing Gus Radel and Paulson to score
- Northern State's final run of the game came on a sacrifice fly by Ragatz to right field to score Sarringar
- The Wolves scored their seven runs on nine hits and committed three errors defensively
- Seth Brewer suffered the loss on the mound in his sixth start of the season; Zach Carolin pitched 2.0 scoreless innings to end the game and did not allow a hit
