Wayne, Neb. – The Northern State University softball team dropped a pair of contests at Wayne State to close out Easter weekend. Northern scored 11 runs in the two contests, however gave up 23 to the Wildcats.

HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
- Wayne State opened the contest with two runs in their first at-bats of the game
- The Wolves answered back, grabbing the lead in the bottom of the first with four runs
- Scoring for the Wolves in the first was Hannah Smith, Shelby Novotny, Kamdyn Barrientos, and Alexandria Arndt
- The Wildcats cut the Northern lead to just one in the third on a wild pitch run scoring play
- Novotny scored her second run of the contest, and the Wolves final of the game, in the fifth on a throwing error by the right fielder
- Wayne State grabbed the lead and sealed the victory, notching three runs in the top of the seventh
- NSU scored their five runs on seven hits with two errors defensively
- Meghan Anderson tallied the loss in the contest, giving up five earned runs on ten hits with four strikeouts

- It was a high scoring affair in game two as the Wolves notched three runs apiece in the first and third, and the Wildcats tallied five runs in the first, three in the second, three in the third, and six in the fourth
- Northern scored their six runs on ten hits in the game, suffering three errors defensively
- Hannah Smith and Liv Richardson singled in the first and game around to score on a homerun to left by Alexandria Arndt
- Shelby Novotny blasted a homerun to left to open the third for the Wolves, while Richardson and Avarie Eagle scored on a sacrifice fly by Arndt and single by Abigail Rux
- Rux started the contest for the Wolves giving up ten earned runs on 12 hits in her 11th loss of the season
- Both Meghan Anderson and Reagan Elrod entered in relief, holding the Wildcats to three runs in the final two innings
