Men's Basketball Travels to Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball team travels this weekend, following a variety of schedule updates prior to the holiday break. The Wolves are slated for 3 p.m. tip offs at Minnesota Duluth on Saturday and St. Cloud State on Sunday/

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES
  • The Wolves hit the road this weekend with an 8-3 record overall and 4-1 mark in the Northern Sun
  • NSU is shooting 47.3% from the floor, 37.7% from the 3-point line, and 79.8% from the foul line this season
  • They are averaging 80.5 points, 36.2 rebounds, 16.5 assists, 10.8 turnovers, 5.0 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game; out-scoring and out-rebounding their opponents by 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game
  • Sam Masten leads four of the five starters averaging 18.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game, while shooting a team high 58.7%
  • Jordan Belka and Jacksen Moni are close behind notching 13.6 points per game and 20 total assists each in 2022-23
  • Augustin Reede is the final Wolf in double figures, notching 11.8 points per game with 34 made 3-pointers this season and a team best 49.3 field goal percentage from beyond the arc
  • A combination of Trey Longstreet, Josh Dilling, and Michael Nhial have made up the final starting role this season
 
(RV) MINNESOTA DULUTH STORYLINES
  • The Bulldogs hold a 10-2 record this season and perfect 6-0 mark in the NSIC, while receiving votes in the most recent NABC Top-25 Poll
  • Duluth is shooting 49.2% from the floor, 36.3% from the 3-point line, and 71.5% from the foul line
  • They are averaging 84.7 points, 34.9 rebounds, 14.2 assists, 10.3 turnovers, 6.5 steals, and 2.7 blocks per game; out-scoring and out-rebounding their opponents by 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game
  • Drew Blair leads four in double figures, notching 21.8 points per game, as well as a team leading 32 assists
  • Austin Andrews leads the team at the rim, averaging 7.8 rebounds per game and is second notching 13.8 points per game
  • Minnesota Duluth is led by head coach Justin Wieck in his fourth season at the helm
