Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 17 Northern State University wrestling team continues road competition this Thursday and Saturday at Concordia Moorhead and the Dakota Wesleyan Open. The Wolves and Cobbers will face off at 7 p.m. on Thursday and the DWU Open is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday.

#17 NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

• The Wolves enter the week after a 1-1 trip to Oklahoma, defeated Carl Albert State (47-3) and falling to No. 4 Central Oklahoma (30-3)
• No. 11 Wyatt Turnquist tallied two wins for NSU, including a decision victory over No. 3 Filippo of UCO
• Northern recorded nine total extra point wins in the two duals including falls by Brenden Salfrank, Robert Coyle III, Devin Bahr, and Turnquist
• The Wolves are currently ranked No. 17 in the NWCA Poll with three individually ranked student-athletes in No. 3 Cole Huss (197), No. 6 Treyton Cacek (184), and No. 11 Turnquist (149)

• The Cobbers opened the 2022-23 campaign last weekend at the Jimmie Open
• Four wrestlers tallied championships at Jamestown in addition to four top-3 finishes
• Individual Jimmie Champions included Gabe Zierden (197), Ty Bisek (133), Cade Lundeen (141), and Connor Chloupek (184)
• Concordia Moorhead is coming off a 6-6 record in 2021-22
• The Cobbers are led by head coach Quincy Osborn in his fourth season at the helm
