Northern State Faces MSU Moorhead in Midweek Action

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University volleyball team opens the homecoming festivities with a midweek match against MSU Moorhead tomorrow. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Wachs Arena.

Game Specific Promotions

  • The contest is the annual Sanford Health Pink Game, bringing awareness to breast cancer research and the goal to find a cure

 

Online Ticketing

Wolves Club season tickets and general admission passes can be purchased online at nsuwolves.universitytickets.com or at the gate on game day. The fully automated system allows fans to select their seat for game day with tickets sent directly to your email or mobile device. Pricing for season and single game tickets is available at nsuwolves.com/tickets. Senior and youth tickets are only available for purchase at the gate on game days. All game day ticket sales will be available at the main entrance to Wachs Arena inside the Barnett Center for volleyball.

Current Northern State University students will receive one free ticket to all home sporting events throughout the 2022-23 academic. Information on how to claim student tickets will be distributed via email. 

 

Entrances to the Facility & Gate Opening Times

While the Barnett Center as numerous entrances to the facility, fans should enter through the main north doors on game day. The ticket gate, located in the Barnett Center lobby, will open one hour prior to first serve for all general admission and same day ticket sales. Individuals included in the Northern State passbook must sign in via the far right line at the main gate.  There is no re-entry into the facility.

 

Parking

Parking for all home Northern State volleyball contests is free for all fans in the Barnett Center main lot. Please note that the Barnett Center lot is used as a paid tailgating lot during all Northern State football home contests. On dates where football and volleyball coincide free and paid parking will be clearly marked for all fans. 

 

Concessions and Team Store

The Northern State concession stands are operated by Sodexo and offer a wide range of options for fans of all ages. Enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola product, bite into a soft pretzel with cheese, a world famous Wolf dog, or walking taco. Don’t forget to grab a freshly made popcorn or batch of Wisconsin cheese curds from one of the concession stands near you at all home Wolves athletic events. In addition, Sodexo supports local non-profits through a variety of opportunities. Contact NSU Dining Services at 605-626-2928 to learn more. 

The NSU Nike Team Store will be open in its main Barnett Center location on game day. The Barnett Center location opens one hour prior to first serve for all home contests. 

NORTHERN STATE STORYLINES

  • The Wolves return to home with a 9-7 record overall and 4-4 mark in the NSIC, tied for seventh in the league standings
  • Northern is hitting .242 this season, averaging 12.7 kills, 11.8 assists, 13.7 digs, 1.8 aces, and 2.4 blocks per set
  • Sally Gaul leads the offense with 196 total kills in 2022, averaging 3.92 per set
  • Abby Brooks is hitting a team leading .337 from the middle and leads the defense with 56.0 blocks
  • Madison Langlie surpassed 200 digs on the year last weekend, with 219 total, averaging 4.38 per set
  • Keri Walker paces the Wolves offense with 534 total assists, averaging 10.68 per set

 

MSU MOORHEAD STORYLINES

  • The Dragons enter the quick turnaround with a 5-11 record overall and 2-6 mark in the NSIC
  • MSUM is hitting .154 on the year, averaging 10.3 kills, 9.2 assists, 16.8 digs, 1.1 aces, and 1.9 blocks per set
  • Briget Witzmann leads the offense with 188 kills, averaging 3.30 per set, while Tori Thompson is hitting a team best .270
  • Emily Skalicky has dished out 393 total assists on the year
  • Macie Wieman leads the defense with 221 digs, averaging 4.02 per set, while Thompson and Elise Bakke lead the team at the net with 38 and 37 blocks respectively
  • The Dragons are led by head coach Bob Jones in his second season at the helm

 

LAST MATCH-UP

  • The Wolves faced the Dragons at the Augustana Invite earlier this season, coming away with a sweep
  • NSU hit .356 in the match, led by Taylor Buckley and Sally Gaul with 11 and ten kills apiece
