Aberdeen, S.D. – In the final home meet of the season, the Northern State swim team earned their seventh dual win of the season with 144-118 victory over UMary. The Wolves earned seven individual event wins and 22 individual top-3 finishes in the dual meet. Northern honored six seniors prior to the meet,

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State recorded a runner-up finish in the opening relay of the dual meet, with the team of Mia Fursedonne, Mayson Sheldon, Lauren Forsyth, and Lilly Grebner swimming to a time of 1:54.30 in the 200 yard medley relay
- Grebner led a 1-2-3 finish for the Wolves in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:11.87, she was followed by Maddie Gonzales (2:19.52) and Brianna Back (2:22.61) in second and third respectively
- Haley Osborne earned a runner-up finish in the 200 yard freestyle, hitting the wall in a time of 2:02.19; Delaney Ryken rounded out the top-3 with a time of 2:05.03
- Fursedonne swam to a second place finish in the 50 yard backstroke with a time of 29.89, she was followed closely behind by Gonzales in third place with a time of 29.97
- Sheldon earned her second event win of the season, winning the 50 yard breaststroke with a time of 32.41
- Forsyth earned her first event win of the season with a victory in the 100 yard butterfly, hitting the wall in a time of 1:00.38; Georgy Turner rounded out the top-3 for the Wolves with a time of 1:04.20
- Ryken (25.89) and Osborne (26.04) earned second and third place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle
- Osborne earned her second runner-up finish of the night in the 100 yard freestyle, finishing with a time of 56.38
- Gonzales earned her third win of the season with a victory in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.96
- Grebner earned her second win of the night with a victory in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:08.83; Sheldon earned a runner-up finish with a time of 1:11.24
- Hannah Rodts earned a top-3 finish in the 500 yard freestyle, finishing in third place with a time of 5:49.23
- Forsyth earned her second win of the night with a victory in the 50 yard butterfly, hitting the wall in a time of 27.13; Ryken rounded out the top-3 with a time of 28.39
- For the second time in the dual meet the Wolves finished 1-2-3 in an event, this time in the 100 yard IM; Back finished first place with a time of 1:05.71 and was followed by Sheldon (1:06.26) and Hannah Kiernan (1:07.82)
- The final relay of the meet was decided by just four hundredths of a second as the UMary relay team (3:40.16) edged Northern in the 400 yard freestyle relay as the team of Grebner, Forsyth, Osborne, and Ryken who hit the wall in a time of 3:40.20
- To end the night Kiernan competed in a time trial in the 400 yard IM, she finished with a time of 5:15.97

UP NEXT
Northern State will close out the first half of their season with a trip to Sioux Falls and the Augustana Invitational. The 3-day event will take place November 17-19 at the Midco Aquatic Center and the meet start times will be announced in the coming weeks.
