HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State gained momentum early in the game as the Wolves tallied a pair of shots-on-goal from Zoe Boughton and Lilja Davidsdottir, a shot by Paige Hutton, and a pair of corner kicks in the first ten minutes of play
- In the 30th minute, a shot by Mia Zagorski that went just high over the crossbar was the one of NSU's best scoring opportunities of the game, as a series of passes up the field by Hannah Smith, Isabela Polanco Garcia, and Zagorski opened up a shot opportunity in front of the goal
- Smith netted her fifth goal of the season in the 56th minute of the game, breaking the scoreless tie after collecting a pass from Polanco Garcia and sneaking the ball inside the right post
- UMary's last scoring opportunity came with just under a minute to play when the Marauders were given a dropped-ball roughly ten yards in front of the net; with all 11 players for the Wolves standing on the goal-line in the net, it was Boughton who made the play to deflect Mo Malone's shot back out into play
- Northern held the advantage in shots (11-9) and shots-on-goal (8-3), but NSU and UMary were even in corner kicks with each team attempting five in the game
