Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released the 2021 Preseason Soccer Coaches' Poll today, with the Northern State Wolves picked 13th. NSU garnered 55 total points in the poll.

The Wolves are coming off a 5-12-1 overall record and 3-11-1 league record in 2019. The Wolves return six players from that squad and welcome 24 since the fall of 2020. In addition, Northern welcomes Bob Casper in his first season at the helm of the program.

Hannah Smith and Teya Trujillo were named the team's players to watch for the upcoming season. Smith joined the Wolves in the fall of 2020 and will suit up for her first official game as a Wolf this season. Trujillo returns to the pitch after significant playing time in 2018 and 2019. The Utah native scored two goals in her freshman campaign, including a game winner versus Wayne State.

The 2021 Wolves roster hails from nine different states and five different countries. The open the season with a pair of home exhibition contests on August 24th and 27th versus Morningside and Jamestown. The Wolves kick-off the NSIC slate on September 17th hosting Bemidji State.
