Wolves Offense Comes Alive in Brewer's Sixth Win

Bemidji, Minn. – The Northern State University baseball team put together a big game two on Saturday in their split with Bemidji State. The Wolves fell in game one and bounced back for an 8-inning run-rule victory in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Mitchell Tolk tallied the first run of the game for the Wolves in the top of the third on a homerun to left
  • The Wolves extended their lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Jackson Meyer, scoring Jack Paulson and single by Justin Hutter, scoring Tolk
  • It was all Bemidji State from there as the Beavers tallied two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth
  • Zach Hrvol suffered the loss for the Wolves, giving up five earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts
  • Northern tallied three runs on nine hits and gave up two runs defensively

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Northern opened the game with one run apiece in the second, third, and fourth innings from Ramon Vega Jr., Justin Hutter, and Jack Paulson
  • Bemidji State added one in the fifth, however the Wolves piled it on in the following three frames
  • Isaiah Chevalier singled up the middle in the sixth, scoring Niko Pezonella and Jack Paulson
  • Chevalier went on to add a single down the right field line in the seventh, plating Paulson and Ramon Vega Jr.
  • Ben Carolin sent a grand slam to deep right in the eighth, scoring Vega Jr., Karson Hesser, and Spencer Sarringar
  • Zachery Lainer hit in the Wolves final run of the game on a single which scored Paulson
  • The Wolves scored 12 runs on 15 hits, with one error on defense
  • Seth Brewer continued his solid season on the mound, earning his sixth win of the season with ten strikeouts
