Tanner Berg (men's track and field) and
Tava Berg (women's track and field) have been named the NSU Athletes of the Week for their athletic efforts last week at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The NSU Athletes of the Week award is sponsored by the South Dakota Army National Guard.
Tanner Berg advanced to finals with a 21.44m (70-04.25) mark on his first toss of the meet in the weight throw. He fouled his first finals attempt and threw back-to-back marks of 21.56m (70-09.00) and 21.68m (71-01.50), placing him third overall. Berg opened day two for the Wolves taking 12th in the shot put, earning second team All-American accolades. Berg threw 16.00m (52-06.00).
Tava Berg tallied Northern's highest finish of the day, placing fifth in the high jump. The junior jumped 1.71m [5-07.25], notching the first All-American honors of her career.
