West Fargo, N.D. – Northern State swimming finished day two at the NSIC Swimming Championship with seven top-15 finishes in the finals. NSU currently sits in sixth place with 100 points through the first two days of competition.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hannah Kiernan placed 14th in the 400 IM with a time of 14:48.95
- Lexi Malimanek notched a 24th place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:59.81
- Lauren Forsyth tallied a seventh place finish in the 100 fly with a time of 57.48 seconds
- Marialuisa Avila and Connor Doran placed 13th and 16th in the 100 fly with times of 58.95 seconds and 59.61 seconds respectively
- Delaney Ryken notched a 15th place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:58.01
- In the 200 free relay, the team of Avila, Ryken, Holly Randall, and Doran finished ninth with a time of 1:38.99
- The team of Melani Mercer, Kenzi Matson, Georgy Turner, and Kennedy Davis placed 14th in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:45.50
- In the 400 medley, with a seventh-place finish, the team of Gonzales, Mayson Sheldon, Forsyth, and Doran combined for a time of 3:57.16
- Also, in the 400 medley, the team of Kiernan, Delanee Grier, Matson, and Mercer placed 16th with a time of 4:19.94

"We knew we needed to put up some fast swims this morning to make it into finals and they got after it. They are a tough team! I'm happy with 9 swims at finals plus relays."
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Wolves tallied 16 season best times in the prelim session
- Recording season bests in the 400 IM were Kiernan (4:52.45) and Matson (5:07.80)
- The season bests in the 100 fly included Forsyth (57.85), Avila (59.84), Doran (59.94), Turner (1:02.46), and Kenna Smith (1:07.23)
- Notching season bests in the 200 free were Ryken (1:58.29), Doran (1:59.44), Emma Murdock (2:00.44), Gonzales (2:00.87), Avila (2:05.32), Mercer (2:05.64), and Hazel Ohm (2:18.50),
