Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Northern State swim team fell to the University of Sioux Falls 183-77 in a dual meet at the Midco Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon. In the dual the Wolves captured a win in the 100 yard butterfly and 12 individual top-3 finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State opened the dual meet with a third and fourth place finish in the 200 yard medley relay, the third place team of Maddie Gonzales, Mayson Sheldon, Marialuisa Avila, and Connor Doran finished with a time of 1:53.85
- The Wolves took second and third place in the 1650 yard freestyle as Fanny Legros finished with a time of 19:10.07, followed by Delaney Ryken hitting the wall in 19:41.31
- Maddie Gonzales recorded two second place finishes on the day, in the 100 yard backstroke (1:00.83) and the 200 yard backstroke (2:14.95)
- Mia Fursedonne followed right behind Gonzales in the 200 yard backstroke to capture a third place finish for the Wolves, hitting the wall in 2:18.24
- Haley Osborne earned three top-3 finishes in the dual, a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle (5:33.50), and third place finishes in the 50 yard freestyle (26.21) and 200 yard freestyle (2:01.82)
- Mayson Sheldon finished third place in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.30
- Hannah Kiernan led the Wolves in the 200 yard butterfly, ending with a time of 2:28.55
- In the 100 yard freestyle Connor Doran was the top NSU swimmer, hitting the wall in 56.55
- Marialuisa Avila recorded the lone event win in the dual for Northern State, winning the 100 yard butterfly in a time of 1:00.52
- Northern State closed the dual meet with a second place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay, the team of Fursedonne, Osborne, Doran, and Avila finished with a time of 3:44.99

The Northern State swim team will return to Aberdeen on November 5
th for their next dual meet, as they host Augustana for Senior Night. The first event is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. for the Wolves and Vikings.
