Wrestling Looks to Continue Their Success at Minot State

Aberdeen, S.D. – The (RV) Northern State University wrestling team hits the road tomorrow, facing off against Minot State University. The match will begin at 7 p.m. from the MSU Dome. The two teams will compete in a typical dual, with a number of additional matches following the ten team-scored matches.

  • The Wolves are 2-0 this season with top-25 victories over No. 20 Upper Iowa and No. 22 Parkside
  • Ali'i Loyola, Kolton Roth, and Wyatt Turnquist each hold a 2-0 record leading the team
  • Turnquist leads in team points scored, notching a pin at UIU and major decision at home versus UWP
  • James Burks and Marcus Placide are currently ranked by the NWCA sitting No. 10 at 165 and No. 12 at 184
  • Ty Althoff, Caden Moore, Cole Huss, and Ali'i Loyola tallied decision wins a week ago, while Roth and Turnquist brought home major decisions
 
MINOT STATE STORYLINES
  • Minot is 0-2 on the year, falling to Minnesota State (31-12) and UMary (20-13)
  • Nathan Baca, Keegan Berry, and Jordan Will tallied wins over the Mavericks, with Berry notching a victory by fall
  • Oscar Nellis, Lincoln Stormer, Shadi Mitwalli, and Keegan Berry recorded victories over the Marauders, with Stormer notching the bonus point major decision
