Wolves Wrestling Adds Pair for Fall 2020

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State University head wrestling coach, Rocky Burkett announced the additions of Chase Bloomquist (Prior Lake, Minn.) and Ali'I Loyola (Independence, Mo.) today. Bloomquist and Loyola join the signing class of Ty Althoff (Watertown, S.D.), Michael Bigler (Pacifica, Calif.), Treyton Cacek (Ruthven, Iowa), Eli Jansen (Springfield, Neb.), Caleb Lazure (Omaha, Neb.), Cody Pinkerton (Douglas, Wyo.), Hayden Prater (Rochester, Ind.), Brenden Salfrank (Aberdeen, S.D.), and Sam Stroup (Watertown, S.D.)

Chase Bloomquist is a 5-foot-11, 157-pound wrestler out of Prior Lake High School. He was a 4-year starter and senior team captain for the Lakers under the direction of head coach Joe Block. Bloomquist was a 2-time state qualifier, placing as high as fourth. In addition, he is a 3-time all-conference performer. He is the son of Pat and Shawna Bloomquist.

Ali'i Loyola is a 5-foot-10, 197-pounder out of Lee's Summit High School and California Baptist University. The Northern State graduate transfer was a 4-year starter as a prep, holding a 144-32 record overall. Loyola was a 3-time state qualifier, finishing as high as third, and 3-time all-conference honoree. In addition, he was a national qualifier for Team Missouri. Loyola joins the Wolves after a career at CBU where he won the California Collegiate Open and was a member of the RMAC Championship team. He is the son of Shannon Vaeao and Michael Loyola.
