NSU Was Unable to Find an Answer For The Mustangs Saturday Evening

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Northern State struck first finding Sara Tvedt down low in the paint to open the game
  • Southwest Minnesota State went on 8-0 run after the opening basket from the Wolves before Brianna Kusler was able to end the run with a jumper
  • Both teams started slowly with several turnovers on each side of the ball in the first ten minutes of play
  • NSU in the first quarter was unable to find a point from beyond the arc and only shot 5-of-15 from the floor
  • The Wolves gained some traction in the middle of the second quarter going on a 7-0 run cutting the deficit to six points

  • Northern on the evening shot 33.3% from the floor, 21.4% from distance and 80.0% from the foul line
  • The Wolves scored over half of their points in the paint with 30 and were able to get 12 second chance points on 13 offensive rebounds
