Aberdeen, S.D. – Playing their first game on the new Wachs Arena hardwood, the No. 8 Northern State volleyball team pulled out a 3-1 victory over (RV) Augustana University. The Vikings battled the Wolves hard throughout the match taking the second sets to extra points and gaining a large lead in two of the three sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern opened the match with a 25-18 set victory, before falling 28-26 in the second set
- The Wolves bounced back in the third and four sets, taking the third 25-21 and the fourth 25-20
- NSU overcame a 5-point deficit (15-10) in the third, going on a 15-6 run late
- Northern hit .323 and .361 in the opening two sets, finishing the match with a .294 team attack percentage
- They tallied a match high 64 kills, 62 assists, 72 digs, and 12 blocks, while adding two service aces
- Three Wolves finished the evening in double figures for kills and another three recorded double digit digs
- NSU was balanced offensively, but did struggle at times in serve receive giving up nine service aces
