Maycie Olson to joins Wolves Swimming in 2019-20

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State head coach Nicole Monanian announced today her 11th addition for the 2019-20 swim season, adding Maycie Olson of Watertown. She will join previous signees Georgy Turner (Johannesburg, South Africa), Lauren Forsyth (Durban, South Africa), Melani Mercer (Omaha, Neb.), Annalise Bishop (Huron, S.D.), Kennedy Davis (Springfield, Va.), Delanee Grier (Fort Wayne, Ind.), Hannah Kiernan (Bradford, Ontario), Megan Pattee (Farmington, Minn.), Grace Peterson (Berthoud, Colo.), and Delaney Ryken (Ames, Iowa).
 
Maycie OlsonOlson is a freestyle and backstroke swimmer out of Watertown High School. Olson holds personal records of 56.64 in the 100 free and 25.81 in the 50 free. She competed the Watertown Area Swim Club at the 2015 and 2019 sectional meets. In addition, Watertown won the 2016 South Dakota State Short Course meet. Olson is a top-8 finisher in the 500 free, 100 free, 50 free, and 100 back at the South Dakota State meet. In addition, she finished third in the 100 fly and second in the 200 back at the state meet. She is the daughter of Chris and Theresa Olson.
 
"We are excited to announce Maycie as another South Dakota addition to our roster," explained Monanian. "She is going to be a great addition to our freestyle and backstroke events and we are excited to see what she is going to accomplish with the Wolves."
