St. Paul, Minn. – The Northern State Wolves dropped a cross-division match-up at Concordia-St. Paul by a final score of 49-71. With the loss, the Wolves dropped to 8-13 overall and 5-10 in NSIC.
Wolves and Golden Bears traded baskets for the first three minutes before Concordia-St. Paul jumped out to 16-8 lead. Wolves trailed by seven heading into the second quarter. The Golden Bears jumped out to a 13-point lead heading into the intermission. Wolves in the first half shot 38.5 percent from the field, out-rebounded the opponents 20-17.
The Golden Bears started the second half on an 11-0 run that lasted over three minutes in the third quarter. Wolves got the lead back to 16 before Concordia ended the quarter on a 5-0 run. As the Wolves trailed by 22 heading into the final quarter. Wolves and the Golden Bears each scored 14 points in the final quarter, as the Wolves dropped this one by a final of 49-71.
Wolves finished the game shooting 33.3 percent from the field, 25.0 percent from behind the arc, and a perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line. NSU as a team, tallied 22 points in the pain, four points off turnovers, 12 second chance points, and 10 bench points.

Brianna Kusler finishing the game with 12 points, seven rebounds, and one assist. The other player in double figures for the Wolves was
Alayna Johnson, she finished with 10 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Jessi Marti recorded seven points, one rebound, one assist, one block, and one steal.
Lexi Wadsworth finished tonight with a career high 12 rebounds to go along with her four points and two assists. The last starter was
Brooke Luitjens she finished the game with six points and one rebound.
Anika Fredrick led the scoring off the bench with four points and four rebounds.
Joie Spier and
Tori Mekash each finished the game with two points, Mekash also tallied a team high two steals on the night.
Zoe Hardwick was the last player in the scoring column with two points, one assist, and one block.
Wolves are back in action Saturday afternoon, as the face-off against Minnesota State from Mankato. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. against the Mavericks.
