NCAA Regional Action Kicks Off Tomorrow for No. 4 Northern State

Aberdeen, S.D. – The No. 4 Northern State University volleyball team continues post season action tomorrow in the first round of the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The Wolves earned the fourth seed and will face off against fifth seeded and AVCA seventh ranked St. Cloud State. The match is slated to begin at 5 p.m. on the campus of host Nebraska Kearney. Wolves fans in the Aberdeen area can head down to Lager's Inn where the game will be played live. 
 
QUICK HITS ON THE #4 NORTHERN STATE WOLVES
                • Northern State enters their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance with a 24-5 record overall
                • The Wolves won the NSIC Overall Conference Championship, going 17-3 in league action
                • Not only did the Wolves win back-to-back titles, but seven student-athletes were named to the NSIC All-Conference teams (the most in program history) highlighted with Laura Snyder earning Offensive Player of the Year honors
                • Jenna Reiff and Ashley Rozell joined Snyder on the first team, while Jaiden Langlie, Morgan Baufield, Peyton Ellingson, and Sally Gaul earned second team accolades
                • Rozell also grabbed post-season honors being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District(R) team for the third straight season
                • The Wolves are hitting a national second best .289 this season, averaging 14.6 kills, 13.6 assists, 16.5 digs, 1.2 aces, and 2.0 blocks per set
                • NSU ranks in the top-5 nationally in attack percentage, kills per set, and assists per set
                • Laura Snyder leads the offense with 425 kills in 2019, averaging 4.05 per set with a .337 attack percentage; the junior tallied the 1,000th kill of her career this season
                • Jenna Reiff follows with 381 total kills, averaging 3.63 per set; she continues to climb the all-time list at NSU with 1,189 total kills in third
                • Ashley Rozell has dished out 1264 total assists and ranks fourth in the country averaging 12.04 assists per set; she is the NSU all-time assists leader with 5,107 total and is the first player in program history to record over 1,200 assists in each of her four seasons
                • Jaiden Langlie leads the Wolves defense with 483 total digs, averaging 4.60 per set, in addition to a team high 39 service aces
                • Langlie is the first Northern State player in 25 years to record over 1,500 career digs with 1,808 currently, ranking her fifth all-time
 
MATCHING UP WITH THE #7 HUSKIES
                • St. Cloud State enters the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004, holding a 25-6 record overall and 2-1 mark in post season play
                • SCSU is hitting .222 as a unit, averaging 14.1 kills, 13.1 assists, 19.0 digs, 1.5 aces, and 2.1 blocks per set
                • Linsey Rachel leads the team with 455 total kills this season, averaging 4.03 per set with a .243 attack percentage
                • Maddy Torve has dished out 1343 assists, pacing the Husky offense averaging 11.78 assists per set
                • Phebie Rossi leads the team in efficiency with a .305 attack percentage, adding 237 total kills as well as a team high 102 blocks
                • Clara Krenz earned honors as the NSIC Libero of the Year and leads the SCSU defense with 650 total digs, averaging 5.70 per set
                • The Huskies are led by head coach Chad Braegelmann in his fifth season at the helm; Braegelmann was named the NSIC Coach of the Year

                • The Wolves defeated the Huskies in five sets earlier this season taking the second, fourth, and fifth with scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 15-9
