Wolves Soccer Set For Final Week of Regular Season Play

Aberdeen, S.D. – Northern State women's soccer takes to the road for a make-up match against the Marauders of UMary closing out their 2019 road schedule on Wednesday.  The Wolves then return home for senior day on Friday against the Dragons of MSU Moorhead. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Bismarck and 3 p.m. on Friday in Aberdeen.
 
ABOUT THE WOLVES
  • Northern arrives at the mid-week match-up with a record of 4-11-1 overall and 2-10-1 in NSIC play
  • The Wolves split last weekend taking down Minnesota Crookston (6-1) on Friday and dropping the match to Bemidji State (1-0) on Sunday
  • NSU is averaging 10.6 shots per game with a .494 shot-on-goal percentage this season
  • Shianne Rosselli leads the team with four goals, 46 shots, and 22 shots-on-goal
  • Haley Wammock trails with 21 shots and 11 shots-on-goal
  • The Wolves notched five single game highs over the weekend against UMC in points (16), goals (6), assists (4), shots (33), and shots-on-goal (16)
  • Rosselli, Mallory Schoenhard, and Katinka Ummels all had individual highs on the weekend; Rosselli in points (5) shots (11) shots-on-goal (4), Schoenhard in goals with two, and Ummels in assists with one

ABOUT THE MARAUDERS
  • The Marauders enter the Wednesday match 9-4-2 overall and 7-4-2 in league play
  • UMary split last weekend with a commanding win over Minnesota Duluth (4-0), however fell in a close match to St. Cloud State (1-0)
  • Mary is averaging 14.4 shots per game, with .556 percent of shots being on goal
  • Hannah Richter leads the team with seven goals on the year and three game-winning goals
  • Sidney Burrell sits atop all Marauders with 37 shots and 23 shots-on-goal, with .622 percent of her shots being on goal
  • The Marauders are led by head coach Sarah Cook in her seventh season
 
LAST MEETING
  • The Wolves and Marauders were knotted at one apiece at the end of 110 minutes of play just a season ago with the lone goal for NSU coming from Stephany Estrada
  • NSU is 3-9-4 all-time against UMary dating back to 2006 when Northern emerged on top 2-1
 
ABOUT THE DRAGONS
  • MSUM enters the Friday match-up 6-6-4 overall and 4-6-3 in conference play
  • The Dragons took down Bemidji (1-0) at home and Minnesota Crookston (2-1) on the road last weekend
  • Moorhead is averaging 8.3 shots per game with a .489 shot-on-goal percentage
  • The Dragons have netted nine of their 13 goals in the second half while allowing opponents to score ten goals in the first half
  • Anna Steadland leads MSUM in shots with 24 and shots-on-goal with 15
  • Mckenzie Ickert sits atop all Dragons with three goals and three assists
  • The MSU Moorhead goalkeepers are riding a season save percentage of .852 with 104 saves this season
