Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University wrestling team opens the 2019-20 season tomorrow from the Jamestown Jimmie Open. Competition opens at 9 a.m. with the Wolves facing wrestlers from Augustana, Concordia College, Dakota Wesleyan, Itasca CC, MSU Moorhead, Minot State, North Dakota State, Northland Community Tech College, Jamestown, UMary, Saskatchewan, Wayne State, and York College.
 
QUICK HITS ON THE WOLVES

• Northern opens the 2019-20 season after a 6-5 record overall a season ago
• NSU recorded their highest NSIC finish since the 2012 season going 3-5 overall, with league victories over Augustana, UMary, and Southwest Minnesota State
• The Wolves return 18 wrestlers from the 2018-19 squad, while welcoming 13 freshman and transfers
• Northern was picked sixth overall in the NSIC Preseason Coaches' Poll earning 29 points

• In addition, the Wolves sit fourth overall in the first regional team rankings with 53 points

• Kenny Jones won the 133lb weight class going 4-0 on the day
