Burnsville, Minn. – The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference released today the 2019-20 Preseason Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll. The Northern State Wolves were picked 12th overall and fifth in the NSIC North earning 82 and 25 points respectively.

The Wolves open the 2019-20 season after going 10-19 overall and 7-15 in the NSIC a season ago. They enter their second year under the direction of Paula Krueger, returning 11 from the 2018-19 roster. Northern will see the return of senior Sara Tvedt, whose 2018-19 season ended early due to injury, as well as starters Brianna Kusler, Jessi Marti, and Lexi Wadsworth. Through ten games, Tvedt averaged 9.1 points and 7.1 rebounds, shooting 46.0% from the floor. Kusler and Wadsworth led the team a season ago averaging 11.9 and 10.0 points respectively. The pair earned NSIC All-Conference accolades for the Wolves, and Kusler was named the team's preseason player to watch in 2019-20.

Northern welcomes six incoming freshman and transfers this season, alongside the wealth the experienced returners. NSU will open the season from Wachs Arena, hosting Rogers State and Central Missouri for the Central Region Challenge on November 8 and 9.
