Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State Swimming team is in action Saturday at the University of Mary for a sprint pentathlon. This event is held at the Bismarck State College Aquatic and Fitness Center.
Last time out the Wolves dropped the last home dual of the season last Friday against University of Sioux Falls by a final score of 76-126. In the dual, Wolves finished with two race wins, 11 top-three finished and both relays finished in second place.
Hannah Kastigar picked up wins in the 200 Individual Medley with a "B" cut qualifying time of 2:05.29. In the next event, she tallied another "B" cut time in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.20.
Wolves finished in second, third, and fourth place in three events, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke, and the 500 freestyle. In the 100 freestyle,
Josie Gillund finished second,
Kenna Smith finished third, and
Sierra Ohm finished in fourth place. In the 200 backstroke,
Ashley Dunn finished second,
Jordan Metz finished third, and
Camille Kawasaki finished in fourth place.
Ashley Dunn finished in second place in the 500 freestyle followed by Kalina Eamus in third and
Cassandra Maillet with a fourth place finish.
Shayna Asuncion picked up a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Emaus also finished in third place in the 200 butterfly.

The Marauders enter this meet with a 3-5 record on the season. The Marauders posted 1,859 points at the Dragon Invite to give themselves a second place finish at the invite. Two Marauders have posted times that reach NCCA B cuts. Murillo has posted qualifying times in the 200 and 500 free. Lee posted a time in the 500 free.

Last time these two teams raced, the Marauders left Aberdeen with a 123-100 victory. Northern State not having any diver they could not pick up points in the two diving events leaving them a couple points short of picking up the victory.

Josie Gillund picked up a win in the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.68. Asuncion picked up a first race win of the season in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:39.6. The Wolves picked up a win in the last event of the night in the 400 freestyle relay from the team of Walters, Murdock, Gillund, and Kastigar.
