Busch's double-double leads Wolves over Minnesota Crookston

Aberdeen, S.D. – For the 11th time this season, the No. 2 Northern State University volleyball team swept their opponents. The Wolves defeated Minnesota Crookston with set scores of 25-9, 25-11, and 25-12 on Saturday afternoon, improving to 13-0 overall and 5-0 in the NSIC.
 
Northern hit .410 in the match, recording their fifth contest this season hitting above .400. They tallied 49 kills, averaging 16.33 per set, 66 digs, averaging 22.0 per set, and six aces. The Golden Eagles hit a mere .047 in the match, with just 22 kills and 17 total hitting errors.
 
Hailey Busch and Laura Snyder led the Wolves offense with 16 and ten kills respectively, averaging 5.33 and 3.33 per set. Snyder hit a team best .625 in the match with zero attack errors, while Busch hit at a .424 clip. Morgan Baufield and Jenna Reiff were both second on the team recording a .438 hitting percentage, while adding nine and eight kills respectively. Sally Gaul rounded out the offensive total for the Wolves with six kills.
 
Ashley Rozell only improved on her showing from Friday evening average 16 assists per set, with 48 total in the win. The junior also tallied a team high two aces, and added six digs. Baufield, Reiff, Gaul, and Snyder each recorded a block assist for the Wolves at the net.
 
Bry Goar led four Wolves in double figures with 15 digs, averaging 5.0 per set, followed by Busch with 14, as the senior tallied her second double-double of the season. Lexi Boesl and Jaiden Langlie followed with 12 and 11 digs respectively. Langlie matched Rozell with two aces of her own, while Goar and Boesl each grabbed one.
 
Northern returns to action next Friday and Saturday on the road at St. Cloud State and No. 6 Minnesota Duluth. Match time is set for 6 p.m. versus the Huskies and 2 p.m. against the Bulldogs.
