RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The D2CCA announced Tuesday the 2017-18 Women's Basketball All-Region Teams, with Northern State senior
Miranda Ristau being named to the All-Central Region first team. Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Central Region schools and conferences selected the D2CCA all-region teams. The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month.
Ristau led the NSIC averaging 19.8 points per game in league play, as well as 7.8 rebounds per game. She finished the regular season top-5 in the league in field goal percentage (53.9), offensive rebounds per game (3.0), and blocked shots (2.1), and top-10 in rebounds per game (8.0) and free throw percentage (81.3). The Warner native sits top-25 in the nation in points per game and field goal percentage. She tallied five double-doubles in league play & scored double figures in 22 of 23 games. Ristau accumulated 89 points in the Wolves four post-season games, helping lead the team to their first regional victory in five seasons over Arkansas Tech.
She became a member of the Northern State 1,000 point club in the Wolves win over MSU Moorhead and sits sixth all-time in scoring with 1,461 total points. The senior also sits 14th all-time with 680 total rebounds. She recorded a career high 35 points against St. Cloud State, and was named the NSIC Player of the Week six times this season. Ristau has started all 32 games for the Wolves and leading the team in total points, scoring average, field goal attempts, field goals made, field goal percentage, free throw attempts, free throws made, total rebounds, rebounding average, offensive rebounds, defensive rebounds, and blocked shots. She was honored as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Year, named to the All-NSIC first team, and the NCAA Central Region All-Tournament team.
