Bismarck, N.D. – In the final regular season dual of the season, the Northern State University wrestling team fell to the University of Mary 30-12. The Wolves finish the year 2-13 overall and 0-7 in the NSIC.
 
The Wolves fell behind early with losses at 125 and 141 pounds, as well as forfeits at 133 and 141 pounds.
 
Tanner Olson grabbed the first win of the evening for NSU, defeating Jared Reis in overtime. The two were scoreless through the first and third periods, with each wrestler notching two points. Olson grabbed a takedown in the overtime period, securing the 4-2 sudden victory win.
 
Blake Perryman followed with a decision victory of his own over No. 11 Phillip Springsteen. The first period concluded with the score tied at 2-all. Springsteen chose bottom to begin the second and gave up six nearfall points to the Wolves senior. Perryman added another two nearfall points in the third and a point of riding time, to secure the 10-5 victory.
 
The Wolves continued to chip away at the Mary lead, as Kaden Campbell defeated Austin Eichmann at 174 pounds. Campbell notched one point in the first, four points in the second, and three points in the third notching the 8-6 decision win.
 
Diego Gallegos tallied the final win of the evening for NSU, defeating Emmitt Brooks at 197 pounds. Gallegos led throughout the match, recording two takedowns, one reversal, a penalty point, and one point of riding time. The freshman came away with the 8-3 decision win.
 
Northern returns to action February 23-24 from St. Cloud, Minnesota and the NCAA Super Region Championships.
