ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State's Anika Fredrick (women's basketball) and Ian Smith (men's basketball) have been named as the Qdoba Athletes of the Week for their athletic efforts last week.
 
Fredrick led the Wolves women averaging 15.5 points per game versus Minot State and UMary. The senior recorded a career high 17 points against the Marauders, after scoring 14 against Minot State. She shot 60.9 percent from the floor, 50.0 percent from the 3-point line, and 100.0 percent from the foul line. Fredrick added 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.
 
 Smith led the NSU men in their weekend sweep averaging 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game versus the Beavers and Marauders. He added a team high 13 assists, as well as one block. The senior shot 55.0 percent from the field, and nearly recorded a double double versus the Marauders with 12 points and nine rebounds.
