Soccer heads to Mankato and Concordia-St. Paul to start a three game road trip

Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State Soccer team starts three game road with a match Friday against Minnesota State. They will continue the road trip on Sunday with a match at Concordia-St. Paul. Match on Friday will start at 3 p.m. against the Mavericks and 1 p.m. on Sunday against the Golden Bears.
 
  • Northern State enters the week with a 7-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 conference record. Last week they went 1-1 after losing to Augustana University 1-0 they bounced back and picked up a 4-3 win over Wayne State.
  • Emily Reiten picked up two of the four goals that were scored in the match Sunday against WSC gathering her second and third goal of the season. Teya Trujillo picked up her second goal of the season on a penalty kick late in the match to seal the victory.
  • Darian Leschewski leads the team with five goals on the season and in second place is Shianne Rosselli with four goals. Stephany Estrada and Reiten each recorded three goals on the season.
  • Rosselli leads the team with three assists on the season and in second place with two assists is Estrada. Jessica Otto is the expected goalkeeper for the weekend recording 73 saves in 85 shots attempted with two shutouts and an 85.9 save percentage.
 
About Minnesota State:
  • Minnesota State enters the week with an 11-2-1 overall and 9-1-1 conference record and rated 23rd in the nation.
  • Dakota Wendell leads the team with 10 goals on the season, Morgan Cottew and Julia Zach each tallied six goals. Cottew leads the team with seven assists; Wendell and Zach each have recorded six assists on the season.
  • Alexa Rabune is the expected goalkeeper for the Mavericks giving up 11 goals on the season with an 80.4 save percentage.
  • Minnesota State is led by Brian Bahl in his sixth season at the helm with a record of 101-13-11.
