Golden, Colo. - In their second day from the Oredigger Classic, the Northern State University volleyball team went 2-0 with wins over Rollins College and No. 19 Colorado School of Mines. The two wins move the Wolves to 3-1 on the season.
The Wolves opened the day with a quick three set victory over Rollins College, defeating the Tars 25-19, 25-22, and 25-12. Northern tallied 38 kills, 41 digs, and seven service aces while hitting .289 in the win. Defensively they added 41 digs and eight blocks. Â

Hailey Busch led the team for the third straight match with 13 kills. The junior hit .286 and added five digs and a team second best four blocks.
Holly Vancura and
Morgan Baufield hit a team leading .400 through the three sets with Vancura notching eight kills and Baufield knocking down five. Vancura was second on the team defensively with eight digs, while Baufield recorded a team leading six blocks.

Jenna Reiff added seven kills, followed by
Laura Snyder with five.
Ashley Rozell posted another solid outing for the Wolves with 34 assists, averaging over 11 per set. The sophomore also recorded two of the team's seven aces and seven digs. Four service aces came off the back of
Jaiden Langlie who also led the team defensively with 13 digs.

In their second match of the evening, the Wolves fell to the Orediggers in the opening set 25-22, however battled back in the second, third, and fourth sets with scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 25-23. As a team, NSU combined for 59 kills, 40 digs, 11 blocks, and three aces while hitting a match leading .377.

Four Wolves recorded double digit kills in the game led by senior
Holly Vancura. Vancura knocked down 14 kills while hitting .462 with two blocks and eight digs.
Laura Snyder and
Jenna Reiff followed with 12 and 11 kills respectively. Reiff suffered just one hitting error in the match with a team second best .667 attack percentage. Busch recorded her fourth straight double digit match with ten kills, while adding eight digs.

Ashley Rozell paced the offense to a season high hitting percentage with 44 assists. The sophomore also recorded five kills, five digs, and two block assists.
Morgan Baufield rounded out the offense totals for the Wolves with seven kills, and led the team on defense at the net with five blocks alongside Snyder. Libero
Jaiden Langlie led the NSU defense with 13 digs, as well as two service aces. The sophomore has recorded double digit dig in each of the Wolves four matches and aces in the last three.

Northern returns to action next Friday and Saturday as they host the Max and Erma's Classic from the Barnett Center. Over the two day tournament the Wolves will face South Dakota School of Mines, Minnesota State, Minot State, and Minnesota Crookston. Game times for the Wolves at 12:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day.
