Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University men's basketball team will play their final regular season home games of the 2016-17 season this Friday and Saturday from Wachs Arena. NSU will host Minnesota Crookston at 8 p.m. on Friday and Bemidji State at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Saturday will be military appreciation with all members of the military receiving free admission to the game with military ID. Northern will also honor the two men's basketball seniors,
Mack Arvidson and
Michael Schreiber prior to tip-off.
The Northern State University men enter the weekend on a 6-game win streak after a weekend sweep of Upper Iowa and Winona State. Following the two wins the Wolves sit second in the NSIC North and third in the league overall behind MSU Moorhead and Southwest Minnesota State. The Wolves are shooting 49.9% from the floor, 42.3% from the arc, and 74.3% from the foul line, while averaging 85.7 points, 37.9 rebounds, 13.3 assists, 13.0 turnovers, 3.9 steals, and 3.8 blocks per game. NSU is second in the NSIC in scoring, averaging 86.6 points per league contest, and scoring margin, out-scoring their opponents by 8.8 points per game. The Wolves led the league shooting 43.0% from the 3-point line and averaging 4.1 blocks per game.
Mack Arvidson continues to lead the team in points (388), scoring averaging (16.2), and 3-point field goals made (80). The senior is zoning in on 1,000 career points with 936 currently.
DJ Pollard also has 1,000 points within reaching notching his 955th over the weekend.
