Four Wolves Score in Double-Figures in 12th Straight Victory

St. Paul, Minn. – The No. 13 Northern State University men's basketball team defeated Concordia-St. Paul, 84-71, in a full team effort with four scoring in double figures. The Wolves improve to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the NSIC, currently on a 12-game win streak.
 
The Wolves led by as much as 26 just five minutes into the second half, after a 48-28 lead through the first 20 minutes. The Golden Bears were unable to stifle the NSU offense as their only lead, of one point, came at the 15-minute mark in the first. The win marks the 11th double figure victory for the Wolves this season, and fifth straight.
 
Northern shot 49.1 percent from the floor, 43.5 percent from the arc, and 81.8 percent from the foul line in the game. They forced 16 Golden Bear turnovers, which resulted in 17 points. CSP just edged NSU in rebounds at 33-to-31, however the Wolves tallied 11 points off nine offensive boards. Northern added 36 points in the paint, 12 points off the bench, and eight fast break points in the win.
 
Darin Peterka led the team with 25 points, shooting 50.0 percent from both the floor and the 3-point line. He added three assists, two steals, one rebound, and one block in the win. Ian Smith was second on the team notching his first double-double of the season with 14 points and ten rebounds. Smith also added a team leading six assists and three steals, while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor.
 
DJ Pollard and Gabe King added 13 and 12 points respectively. Pollard shot 62.5 percent from the floor and added three rebounds and two steals, while King knocked down a team leading four made 3-pointers and four blocks. Logan Doyle added eight points and six rebounds, adding four assists, two blocks, and two steals.
 
Andrew Kallman led the team off the bench with five points, followed by Carter Evans and Bo Fries with four and three respectively. Evans was second on the team with five assists, while adding four rebounds and one steal.  
 
The Wolves will travel to Mankato tomorrow for a 4 p.m. match-up with the Mavericks of Minnesota State on New Year's Eve.
