Box Score Aberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State Soccer team went into double overtime with Wayne State, ultimately tying with the Wildcats. NSU moves to 3-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the NSIC.
The Wildcats were the first to score at the 11 minute mark with a header just out of the reach of Charles. The Wolves entered the second half with multiple shots on goal however were unable to connect with net, until
Emily Reiten broke through the defenders and tied things at 1-all.
Both teams were unable to place another goal on the scoreboard while the clock ran down in regulation play. The game headed into two overtime periods with the Wolves and the Wildcats both seeing opportunities to score the decisive goal, however neither were able to do so.
Reiten led NSU with three shots and one goal.Â
Sydney Shintaffer finished the day with five shots and one shot on goal, while
Alexis Lewis contributed two shots and one shot on goal.Â
Justine Charles tallied five saves in 110 minutes of play.
The Northern State soccer team will remain at Jerde Field with a match-up against Bemidji State on Friday. NSU will then hit the road as they travel to Crookston, Minn. on Sunday.
