St. Cloud, Minn. – In their first NSIC dual of the weekend the Northern State University wrestling team fell to No. 1 St. Cloud State 41-3. The Wolves fall to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the league in duals this season.
 
Joe Gomez tallied the team's lone victory of the match in a hard fought battle with No. 3 Vince Dietz. Gomez won the match by a score of 3-2 on the third overtime period. The two were scoreless through the first period, however Gomez took the 1-0 lead in the second. Dietz battled back with an escape of his own to tie things at 1-all. The Wolves senior tallied an escape in each of the two overtime periods to secure the victory and three points for the Wolves.
 
Northern will return to action tomorrow against Upper Iowa. The Wolves and Peacocks will face-off at 2 p.m. from Fayette.
