Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University soccer team will continue NSIC action this weekend on the road, facing Wayne State and Augustana University. Midway through the 2016 season, the Wolves find themselves 4-3-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the conference.
Last weekend the Wolves dropped two close matches, falling to St. Cloud State 2-1 and Minnesota Duluth 1-0. NSU was shutout for the first time on the year. Senior
Anna Bondy led the Wolves with seven shots, five shots on goal and the lone goal in the two matches. Bondy continues to lead the conference with 24 total points and 11 goals.
Fellow senior,
Stacey Cavill, recorded 16 saves and allowed three goals in 180 minutes of play versus the two NSIC opponents.
Through seven games, Northern State remains atop of the league with 23 goals, averaging 3.29 per match.
The Wolves will take on Wayne State at 1 p.m. on Saturday and match up with Augustana University at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
