Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State women's soccer team looks to pick up NSIC action with a pair of weekend matches, facing St. Cloud State and the University of Minnesota Duluth. The Wolves will first travel to take on the Huskies on Friday, and then return home on Sunday for a game against the Bulldogs. Through five matches in the 2016 season, the Wolves find themselves 4-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in conference play.
Northern State went 1-1 last weekend, defeating the University of Sioux Falls 1-0 and falling to Southwest Minnesota State 3-2 in an overtime period. Defender
Sydney Shintaffer led the NSU offense with the game winning goal against USF, while Stephany Estada gave the Wolves life late in the SMSU match with a game tying goal.
The Wolves continue to lead the NSIC in multiple categories, including; total goals (22), scoring average (4.40), scoring margin (3.40) and shots taken (151). Senior
Anna Bondy has been a national leader in points and goals scored, with 22 points and 10 goals.
Northern will face St. Cloud State at 7 p.m. from Husky Stadium, and battle Minnesota Duluth back home from Jerde Field at 1 p.m. for the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer game. The first 75 Wolves fan will receive a pink NSU soccer scarf.
