Listen LiveAberdeen, S.D. - The Northern State University men's basketball returns home this weekend for the annual "I Hate Winter" festivities. The Wolves will match up with No. 1 Augustana on Friday at 8 p.m., and return Saturday for a 6 p.m. match-up with Wayne State. Fans and students can enjoy courtside hot tubs and summer themed events throughout the weekend.
The Wolves return to Wachs Arena after a two loss weekend on the road. Northern drops to T-4 in the NSIC North with St. Cloud State heading into the final three weeks of the season.
Mack Arvidson had a career game versus the Mavericks with 37 points and was named the NSU Athlete of the Week. Arvidson shot 13-of-22 from the floor. NSU is shooting 48.5 percent from the floor, 40.7 percent from the arc, and 70.5 percent from the foul line this season.
Skye Warwick climbs his way up the 1,000 point list with 1,138 points heading into the weekend. He is currently 33rd overall.
Darin Peterka notched a career high 12 assists versus MSU, and continues to lead the team in points (303), scoring average (15.2), field goal attempts (223), field goals made (110), assists (3.9), steals (1.8), and offensive boards (1.6).
About the Vikings • Augustana enters the weekend on a 19-game win streak dating back to November 19th.
• The Vikings were ranked No. 1 in the January 26th NABC Poll with 15 first place votes.
• Daniel Jansen leads the team averaging 20.3 points, while Casey Schilling tallies a team leading 9.2 boards.
