NSIC Tournament BracketAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University women's basketball team rounded out the regular season with a 68-53 victory over Bemidji State. The Wolves clinched the North Division title with an overall record of 21-6 and a 17-5 conference record, while the Beavers fall to 7-19 overall and 3-19 in the NSIC.
Bemidji State took an early 19-18 lead after the first quarter as they held onto their largest scoring gap of the game at 5:37, up by five points. The two teams battled defensively being held to just 11 points each in the second quarter. Sophomore
Jill Conrad sunk a 25-foot buzzer beater to send the Wolves into half time trailing 29-30.
Coming out after the half, NSU went on a 25-8 run to take the 54-38 lead. The Wolves maintained the double-digit lead throughout the remaining ten minutes. Northern State shot 45.1 percent from field goal range, 44.4 percent from the three-point arc and 69.2 percent from the foul line.
Lauren Deadrick led the Wolves as she matched her career-high 24 points, shooting 63.6 percent from field goal range and sinking 10-15 from the free-throw line.

Miranda Ristau each ended the game in double-digit points as Conrad picked up 14, Waytashek recorded 12 and Ristau collected 11. Northern State powered past Bemidji with 32 total points in the paint.
NSU held the Beavers to a 31.5 shooting percentage and nabbed 40 rebounds. Defensively the Wolves forced nine turnovers with four steals and three blocks against BSU, converting those opportunities into 14 points.
Aimee Pelzer led Bemidji State with 14 total points and seven rebounds. Pelzer shot 45.5 percent from field goal range and ended the night 4-8 from the three-point arc. Hanna Zerr added 11 points for the Beavers and four assists.
Northern State will return to Wachs Arena this upcoming Wednesday at 6 p.m. to take on Southwest Minnesota State for first round action of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament.
