Aberdeen, S.D. – After picking up a sweep last weekend against Minot State and the University of Mary, the Northern State women's basketball team will travel to compete in their first NSIC road games this upcoming weekend. The Wolves will face Bemidji State on Friday and take on Minnesota Crookston on Saturday. NSU is currently 6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
As a team the Wolves are shooting 43.9% from the floor, 37.4% from the arc, and 76.2% from the foul line, while averaging 62.1 points, 35.9 rebounds, 16.4 assists, 15.6 turnovers, 7.1 steals, and 4.6 blocks per game. NSU is first in the NSIC in scoring defense (48.3) and second in field goal defense (27.2) and steals (10.3).
Junior
Jill Conrad continues to lead the team in points (102), scoring average (14.6), defensive rebounds (5.3), and free throws made (22). Likewise,
Miranda Ristau is second on the team in scoring (12.3), but leads the team in rebounds (52), rebound average (7.4), offensive rebounds (2.4), and blocked shots (2.1).
In last weekend's match against Minot State,
Brynn Flakus and
Jessi Marti recorded career-high nights with seven and six points respectively.
Paige Waytashek matched her season-high with 13 points and seven assists versus U-Mary.
Northern State will tip-off against the Beavers Friday at 6 p.m. from the BSU Gymnasium and play again at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Lysaker Gymnasium.
