Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University swim team swept in tonight's NSU Double Dual, defeating U-Mary 192-67 and Minnesota Morris 214-79. With the two victories, the Wolves improve to 4-9 overall in the 2016-17 season.
NSU recorded 13 first place finishes in the 16 event meet, getting off to an impressive start with a first place finish in the 200 yard medley relay.

Kayla Sproles completed the race in 1:53.04 as a unit.
Kalina Emaus led the Wolves with three individual first place finishes, beating out competitors in the 1650 yard freestyle, the 200 yard butterfly and the 500 yard freestyle. The sophomore finished the 1650 yard freestyle in 18:38.18, the 200 yard butterfly in 2:14.74 and the 500 yard freestyle in 5:29.98.

Edda Skoric also aided the Wolves in their victory, with two first place finishes each. Kastigar defeated seven other opponents in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.04 and completed the 100 yard butterfly over six seconds before the second closest contestant with a time of 56.77.
Kayla Sproles picked up her second-consecutive wins in both the 100 yard freestyle and the 50 freestyle. The junior hit the wall at 55.18 in the 100 yard race and 25.60 in the 50 yard race.
Freshman
Edda Skoric also found success on the night, claiming victories in the 100 yard backstroke and the 200 yard backstroke. Skoric finished the 100 yard event in 1:01.59 and the 200 yard event in 2:10.66.
The Wolves also tallied first place finishes in the 100 yard breaststroke and the 200 yard breaststroke.
Kady Harris completed the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:09.82, while
Karlie Brown claimed first in the 200 yard breaststroke with a finishing time of 2:34.91.
Northern State compiled their 13
th and final first place finish of the meet in the 200 yard freestyle relay as the team consisting of
Hannah Kastigar,
Edda Skoric,
Sierra Ohm and
Kayla Sproles raced to a split-second win with a time of 1:42.47.
NSU will continue action on the road next week, facing Nebraska Kearney at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 18
th.
