Aberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University swim team will host their final home meet of the 2016-17 season this Friday evening. The 2-9 Wolves will take on the Minnesota Morris Cougars and the University of Mary Marauders from the Aberdeen YMCA.
NSU is looking to continue momentum after defeating Augustana University 146-116 on Tuesday. The Wolves competed in arguably their best meet of the season, clinching nine first place finishes, three personal records and 32 season bests through 14 events.
Junior
Hannah Kastigar was involved in four of NSU's nine first place finishes, including; the 400 yard medley relay, the 1000 yard free, the 200 yard butterfly and the 400 yard IM. Kastigar tallied her sixth school record, completing the 1000 yard free in 10:33.28 and surpassing the prior record by 11.11 seconds.
Action between the three teams will begin at 5:30 p.m. from the Aberdeen YMCA. The three Northern State seniors,
Shannon Fines,
Eliza Jacob and
Kamie Wagar, will be honored in the meet, following the 1 mtr diving event.

- The Cougars have competed in one head-to-head dual against Concordia Minnesota, defeating the Cobbers 136.5-99.5
- Tori Brua led Minnesota Morris their first meet of the season, picking up three victories in the 1000 yard free, the 100 yard free, the 200 yard free relay

About U-Mary
- The Marauders are currently 1-4 overall in the 2016-17 season, defeating Augustana University 138-124
- The Wolves defeated U-Mary 209-52 in their first ever meet as a program. Mary had several key performers on opening night as Meghan Mokhtary and Elizabeth Moriarty posted runner-up finishes, and freshman Alyssa Boese claimed third in two events for the Marauders
- After finding coaching success at a variety of levels, Allan McCallum was announced in January of 2016, as the University of Mary's first women's swimming team head coach
