Box Score Moorhead, Minn. – In their final mid-week contest of the regular season, the Northern State University volleyball team defeated MSU Moorhead 3-1. The Wolves improved to 15-5 overall and 8-4 in the league, taking down the Dragons with set scores of 22-25, 25-13, 25-22, and 25-18.
 
The Wolves tallied 55 kills as a team, while hitting .218 on offense. Defensively they held the Dragons to a .126 attack percentage with 46 kills and 26 errors. Northern also tallied 49 assists, 78 digs, six service aces, and five blocks.
 
Holly Vancura led three Wolves in double-digit kills with 15 in the victory. The junior also hit .364 and tallied a team second best 17 digs. Jenna Reiff and Kellie Schmit tallied 12 and 11 kills respectively, while Lauren McCafferty notched another nine. Tori Biach and Ashley Rozell rounded out the team total with five and three kills each. Rozell and Biach hit a team leading .750 and .417 in the four sets, without suffering an attack error.
 
Ashley Rozell notched 44 of the team's 49 assists, averaging 11.0 per set. She also notched a team third best 13 digs and a team leading four blocks. Jaiden Langlie led the NSU defense with 24 digs in the match, while McCafferty and Amanda Tobin each recorded six of their own. Reiff led the team with three service aces, while Vancura, Rozell, and McCafferty each tallied one.
 
Northern returns to Wachs Arena this Friday and Saturday versus No. 6 Winona State and Upper Iowa. The Wolves will open the weekend with a 7 p.m. match Friday against the Warriors, and then face-off at 6 p.m. on Saturday versus the Peacocks.
