Score SheetSioux Falls, S.D. – The Northern State University wrestling team opened the NSIC season with a 31-12 loss to No. 15 Augustana. Northern drops to 4-4 in duals this season, and 0-1 in the Northern Sun.
Carson Henry opened the scoring for the Wolves with a victory by fall over David Potratz just 19 seconds into the match. After two matches, the Wolves led 6-3.
Down 12-6 heading into the 157 pound match, the Wolves looked to sophomore
Blake Perryman. Perryman defeated Shawn Hatlestad in a 13-9 decision and brought the Wolves within three.
Sean Havlovic tied things up for NSU, defeating Bruce Lemmon for the third time this season in an 8-4 decision.
The Wolves were unable to break things open in the final four matches of the night and ultimately fell in the dual 31-12.
Next up for the Wolves is the University of Nebraska Kearney Midwest Duals, set for next Saturday. NSU will face off against Western State (9 a.m.), Colorado Pueblo (10:30 a.m.), Colorado School of Mines (12 p.m.), and Adams State (1:30 p.m.).
