Listen LiveAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State men's basketball will hit the road this weekend for a pair of NSIC North contests. NSU will kick things off tomorrow night at 8 p.m. versus Bemidji State. The Wolves will then travel for a 6 p.m. match-up Saturday with Minnesota Crookston.
Northern enters the road weekend on a current four game win streak in the NSIC with home victories over Minot, U-Mary, Southwest, and Sioux Falls.
Darin Peterka has gotten the job done on both ends of the floor for NSU, leading the team in points (16.0), field goal attempts (206), field goals made (103), assists (3.4), steals (1.9), and offensive rebounds (1.6). Peterka was also named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week. The Wolves are shooting 48.3% from the floor, 41.1% from the arc, and 70.1% from the foul line this season. In their last four victories, NSU is shooting over 50.0% from the floor, with a season high 62.1% against the University of Mary. Since the holiday break, the Wolves are averaging 13.7 assists per game, and under ten turnovers (9.2) with a 4-2 record.
About the Beavers • Bemidji State enters the weekend 8-8 overall and 5-7 in league action, after a weekend split with Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State.
