NSU Trackwrestling Home PageAberdeen, S.D. – The Northern State University wrestling team travels to the Nebraska-Kearney Midwest Duals this Saturday. The Wolves will face-off against Western State, University of Colorado-Pueblo, Colorado School of Mines, and Adams State in the one day dual tournament.
The Wolves enter the weekend 4-4 in duals this season, after a loss to Augustana.
Joe Gomez is ranked No. 7 in the WCA Poll at 197 pounds, and will likely match-up against No. 6 Paul Wilson of Colorado School of Mines tomorrow. Versus the Vikings,
Carson Henry,
Blake Perryman, and
Sean Havlovic tallied victories for NSU. Henry notched the team's fastest victory by fall of the year over David Potratz just 19 seconds into the match. Both Perryman and Havlovic won by decision. Northern looks to remain healthy as a long day of competition awaits them in Nebraska.
About Western State- The Mountaineers are currently ranked No. 16 in the WCA Poll released yesterday
- Heading into the weekend they are 3-1 in duals this season and on a one dual win streak over Simon Fraser University
- Corbin Bennet is ranked No. 7 at 141 pounds
- Western State is led by head coach Miles Van Hee in his 18th season with the program
About Colorado-Pueblo- The Thunder Wolves are 0-3 heading into the duals, and will face off against No. 5 Nebraska-Kearney just before NSU
- Pueblo boasts three ranked wrestlers in No. 4 JaCobi Jones at 157 pounds, No. 6 Terrance Williams at 174 pounds, and No. 4 Jacob Mitchell at 285 pounds
- The Thunder Wolves are led by head coach Dax Charles in his eighth season with the program
About Colorado School of Mines- The Orediggers are currently ranked No. 20 in the WCA Poll released yesterday
- Paul Wilson is ranked No. 6 at 197 pounds for Mines
- Mines is 3-1 in duals this season heading into the weekend
- The Orediggers are led by head coach Austin DeVoe in his third season with the program
About Adams State- The Grizzlies are 0-2 in duals this season heading into the weekend, and will face-off against the Wolves in each team's final dual of the day
- Martin Ramirez is ranked No. 3 at 133 pounds
- Adams State is led by head coach Jason Ramstetter in his 14th season with the program
