Aberdeen, S.D.- The Northern State soccer team hits the road once again this weekend looking to snap their two game losing streak. The team currently holds a 2-2-0 record overall, and a 0-1-0 record in NSIC play. The Wolves will face off against St. Cloud State at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Minnesota-Duluth at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Northern has played competitively early in the season, with each of the first four contests being one score games. The Wolves have logged a higher shot-on-goal percentage and total shots per game than their opponents. They continue to spread out the offense as all five goals on the season were split between
Allie Macdonald,
Anna Bondy,
Darian Leschewski,
Sydney Shintaffer and
Taven Morrison. Northern State goalkeepers,
Stacey Cavill and
Brittany Tietz, have 22 combined saves and have held their opponents to 1.23 goals per game.
About St. Cloud State UniversityThe St. Cloud State Huskies have started off their season with a 1-1-1 overall record, including their tie against conference rival, Minnesota-Duluth. Huskies' forward, Maria Kass has tallied all three goals for the team in 2015. In the previous season, St. Cloud finished 5-9-1 in the conference. The Huskies are led by second year head coach, Gretta Arvesen.
About University of Minnesota-DuluthThe UMD Bulldogs have a current overall record of 1-2-1 in the 2015 season. Junior forward, Kailey Beatt has connected for two of the Bulldogs' five goals on the year. Duluth finished seventh in the conference last season, with a record of 8-6-1. Head coaching for the Bulldogs is 21 year veteran, Greg Cane.
