Aberdeen, S.D.- The Northern State University swim team will host their final meet of the 2015-16 season this Friday at 5:30 p.m. from the Aberdeen YMCA. The team will take on the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the dual.
The meet will consist of 16 total events, including the 400 MR, 200 free, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 butterfly, 50 free, 1M diving, 100 free, 200 backstroke, 200 breast, 500 free, 100 butterfly, 400 IM and the 400 free relay.
Last year's match-up between UNK and NSU resulted in a 130-130 tie. Returners,
Eliza Jacob and
Kayla Sproles led the Northern State women with four first place finishes each against the Lopers. In the 2015-16 season,
Eliza Jacob has recorded top finishes in the 500 free (5:38.47), as well as in the 100 breast (1:10.22), notching season best times. Kayla Spoles has picked up first places finishes in the 50 free (25.31), the 100 back (1:02.67) and in the 100 free (54.70).
The meet will recognize NSU's three seniors,
Samantha Bahr,
Brianna Iverson and
Katelyn Rhodes.
University of Nebraska-Kearney The University of Nebraska-Kearney has defeated the College of Saint Mary 152-38 and Morningside College 140-82 early in the season. The team last battled in the Mustang Invitational where they collected a first place finish with 551 total points against competitors, Iowa Central Community College, Morningside College, Nebraska Wesleyan University, College of Saint Mary, Tabor College and Iowa Lakes Community College. The team's unbeaten 200 yard medley relay team consisting of Skylar Tatreau, Brianna Montar, Zhu Zhu Lundin Daniels and Alex Prochaska has recorded a season best time of 1:57.35. Entering her 20
th season with the program, the Lopers are led by head coach Theresa Osmanski.
